Bedfordshire Russell Lodge Brothers Support Santa Run for Keech Hospice
Sunday morning saw the Embankment taken over by a sea of red suits and bobble hats as the Bedford Santa Run got underway in support of Keech Hospice.
After a last-minute rush of eager Santas signing up, Keech Hospice put out an urgent call for extra hands. Bedfordshire Freemasons were quick to answer, helping to marshal over 500 Santas around the 5km route, no reindeers required, and playing their part in raising an impressive £22,000+ for the charity.
With Keech Hospice being his chosen charity for the year, James Wootton, Master of Russell Lodge, was more than happy to swap a lie-in for a hi-vis vest. Alongside Santa’s perfect little helper, Bill Appleton, he helped keep the Santas moving in the right direction and ensured the event ran smoothly, safely, and with plenty of festive cheer.
